202 Reasons to Celebrate: Inside Our Jauja Spay & Neuter Campaign

On July 11 & 18, 2026

Remarkable things happen when…

Local organizations, passionate veterinarians, and an entire community come together with a shared purpose.

Over two action-packed days — July 11 and July 18 — Pichuberry joined forces with local leadership and dedicated care providers for a major spay/neuter initiative in Jauja.

Going into the campaign, our team set an ambitious goal: to sterilize 200 pets.

Today, we are thrilled to share that we didn't just reach that benchmark — we surpassed it!

Together, we successfully provided 202 dogs and cats with safe, subsidized sterilizations.

Going the Extra Mile for Every Animal

Hitting our target didn't happen in a single afternoon — it took adaptability, care, and unwavering commitment to safety.

During the primary clinic days, several pets brought in by loving owners weren't quite ready for surgery due to being too young, currently nursing, managing underlying medical conditions, or missing the required pre-surgery fasting window.

Rather than turning these families away, our long-time partner, Veterinaria Espinoza, stepped up to ensure no animal was left behind.

They honored the subsidized S/25 rate at their clinic following the event so every scheduled pet could safely receive their procedure once ready.

Thanks to their dedication, those final cases pushed our overall total to 202 healthy, happy pets!

Powered by Partnership & Community

A campaign of this scale is only possible through true collaboration. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the partners who made this impact in Jauja a reality:

  • The Municipality of Jauja: A massive thank you to the local leadership and team in Jauja for their outstanding collaboration. Their team gave their absolute best to coordinate, support, and host these event days. We are deeply grateful for their commitment to animal welfare and their vision for a healthier community.

  • Veterinaria Espinoza: To our long-time partner in compassion—thank you. Your medical expertise, professionalism, and endless dedication continue to be the backbone of these life-saving campaigns.

What 202 Sterilizations Truly Mean

Behind every single statistic is a story.

Sterilizing 202 pets means 202 animals facing brighter, healthier, and longer lives ahead.

It means hundreds — potentially thousands — of unwanted litters prevented, directly addressing street overpopulation at its root.

Most importantly, it represents another vital step forward in breaking the cycle of suffering, neglect, and abandonment in Jauja.

To our supporters, volunteers, and partners around the world: thank you! Every share, donation, and encouraging message helps drive this work forward.
