Success in Matahuasi: 65 Lives Changed in a Single Day

On April 11, 2026

Our latest sterilization campaign in Matahuasi (Concepción, Peru) was nothing short of inspiring. This past Saturday, our team and volunteers hit the ground running to bring essential care to the pets of this wonderful community.

The Impact by the Numbers

Thanks to the generous support of the Marchig Animal Welfare Trust, we reached a massive milestone in just 24 hours:

65 Families Helped

42 Cats Sterilized

23 Dogs Sterilized

It Takes a Village

This success belongs to the people who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. A massive shout-out goes to Señora Sandra López and her family, who were the heartbeat of this campaign. They handled the heavy lifting — organizing, registering, and mapping the community — to ensure everything ran like clockwork.

We also want to thank the dedicated veterinary team at Clínica Veterinaria Espinoza for their professionalism and our amazing volunteers who spent their Saturday morning monitoring recoveries and giving every pet the love they deserved.

Looking Ahead

The Work Continues While we are celebrating, our mission in Matahuasi isn't over.

We currently have 32 pets still waiting for their turn — many of whom were too young, pregnant, or nursing during this round.
