Breaking the Cycle in Jauja: Pichuberry’s First Namaste Day
On September 19, 2026
Pichuberry marked a special milestone: our very first Namaste Day in Jauja.
Thanks to the vital support of the Jason Heigl Foundation, our team brought accessible, life-saving spay and neuter services to a community that holds a crucial place in our mission.
Throughout a full day of dedicated effort, we successfully sterilized 60 pets: 34 cats and 26 dogs.
Every single surgery counts. In communities like Jauja, where dog abandonment and free-roaming populations present ongoing challenges, spay/neuter campaigns hit the root of the issue.
Each sterilization prevents future unwanted litters, reduces the number of animals left vulnerable on the streets, and takes us one step closer to ending the cycle of animal suffering.
Total Care Beyond Surgery: The Maddy Program
Our commitment to animal welfare means putting safety and health first.
During the campaign, a few pets could not safely undergo surgery due to their age or pre-existing health conditions.
Rather than turning them away, these animals were referred directly to our Maddy Program, ensuring they receive the ongoing veterinary care, monitoring, and tailored support they need.
Honoring Our Partners & Team
A campaign of this scope is only possible when compassionate organizations and community members unite. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to:
The Jason Heigl Foundation: For their generous sponsorship and unwavering belief in our mission to protect vulnerable animals in Peru.
Veterinaria Espinoza: For providing skilled veterinary expertise and compassionate care throughout the day.
Municipalidad de Jauja: For collaborating with us and supporting localized animal welfare initiatives.
Our Incredible Volunteers: Who worked tirelessly from start to finish to ensure every family and pet felt supported.
The Work Continues
60 animals in one day. One community at a time.
The work continues. Week after week, campaign after campaign, we keep moving forward to build a safer, kinder world for Peru's animals.
Spay. Neuter. Break the cycle. Save lives.
